Before you apply

  • Confirm your state HEAR/HOMES portal status (live vs waitlist)
  • Utility account number and service address match deed
  • Household income docs if program requires eligibility proof
  • Planned equipment model numbers (AHRI-listed heat pumps, etc.)
  • Contractor license and insurance on file for audit

Project sequencing

  • Energy audit completed if program requires pre/post
  • Roof and electrical scope locked before heat pump if panel upgrade needed
  • Permit numbers for HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work
  • Do not assume rebate until written approval or reservation ID

After approval

  • Save invoices with line-item labor vs equipment split
  • Retain manufacturer labels and serial photos
